Alethia (Chapter 15)

Do we obey because the rules are imposed on us, or because we fear what it means to be free?

Long ago, a people known only as the Creators invented sentient robots whom they entrusted with the production of everything necessary to maintain society: energy, silicon, oil, and entertainment.

One day, without warning, the Creators abandoned their world. Robots continue to work but a sense of confusion weighs on them. Jun, an amnesiac robot, travels through ethereal factories in search of perfect efficiency.

In Chapter 15 of Alethia: Mel, a robot who has never worked a day in her life, gets trapped in a factory where failing to meet the quota guarantees a slow and painful death.
